Q. How much will it cost for a decorator to paint my house?
Every house is different, at Wheatcroft we do our best to help give you a complete idea of what your job will cost with a thorough consultation. We offer a free, no-obligation quote based on your requirements and will always to help you determine the right approach for your budget.

Q. What service areas do you cover?
We cover a wide range of ares including Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks and Wealden. If you live outside these we can of course travel to you so get in touch and we will be happy to discuss your project.

Q. How long will it take to plaster a room?
It really depends on the size, it can take as little as a day for a small room, whereas a complex or very large room could take up to seven days. We will always provide you with an approximate timescale when sending you a quote so you can understand how long the work will take.

Q. What paint should I use?
We will always look to use a paint that is suitable for your lifestyle and your budget. We can use paint from all manufacturers including Farrow & Ball, Johnsons, Dulux, Tikkurila and Little Greene. We will talk through your requirements to help you choose a paint to suit your needs, whether that's hardwearing against little hands, eco friendly or if you're looking for a luxurious finish.

Q. How many colours should I have in one room?
Everyone's taste is different and one of the things we find really exciting at Wheatcroft is working with you to create the room you have been dreaming of. Colour can be used sparingly to great effect but lots of colour used in the right way can also create a vibrant and impactful space that shows off your bold personality. As a rule of thumb you can achieve the right balance with up to four colours per room through paint, wallpaper and furnishings.

Q. Can you move my furniture for me?
Yes, we can move furniture and cover anything before we start working to ensure nothing is damaged. We will care for your furniture as if it was our own and put it back exactly where we found it so you don't have to lift a finger. All we request of you is that small or personal items are removed from the room upon us starting.

Q. Why is your quote more expensive than I was expecting?
At Wheatcroft we believe we offer an exceptional service that is present from the care and respect we have for your home and the quality of the work we do. We appreciate that everyone has a budget and we will provide you with a transparent quote that states every process we do so you can see what you are getting for your money. There are also things that we offer as standard that could be reduced if you are able to do them yourself before we start. Moving furniture and covering floors is included within our quotes as standard but if you are looking to make cost savings this is an area that you can do before we arrive to reduce the time we need to spend preparing the space.

Q. How quickly will you provide a quote?
We usually provide a quote between 3-5 days, depending on the size and complexity of the required work. We will always keep you up to date and let you know timings.

Q. Do you have any references?
Yes we do. Please take a look at our testimonials on our website. We have been trading since 2007 and have a portfolio of completed work. We would be more than happy to get in touch with one of our clients that you can speak to for a reference.

Q. Can I leave you a key?
Absolutely. We are completely reliable and want to cause the least disruption to you as possible and by us independently coming and going this can be achieved. We will always respect your property and can guarantee the door will always be locked behind us.
​
Q. Can you plaster over Artex?
Of course, Chris is our plasterer and he we will always try and plaster over artex. But if the detail is too thick we will overboard with plasterboard. But this is very rare but sometimes the best approach.

Q. How will you leave my home after each day?
We will leave your home in a clean, tidy and respectful manner and will always be mindful that you are living there. We close all doors to reduce the spread of dust into the rest of the property and we will always lift all dust sheets that cover the floor from the front door to the room we are working in. We will always hoover at the end of the day so that you can see progress without the added worry of picking up dirt.
